Emerging into the spotlight from East Palo Alto, CA the songstress quickly began to make her mark. At just two years old, Folami was often found mimicking the lead singer on the microphone during her father's band rehearsals.
During her high school years, Folami began to sing backup for local Bay Area acts in various jazz night clubs. Eventually, Folami trained her voice through humming, singing tones and vocal interpretations. She continued formal training at Howard University where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre.

Spawned from a musical heritage that involves traditional African influence as well as early American jazz and blues, Folami is definitely not your typical R&B type. Folami remixes the music of yesterday while creating her own new style in the world of music today. Her music combines the zest of loud trumpets, caress of soft strings, a splash of that astounding 808 and the hypnotizing hum of her melodic soprano. Currently you can find Folami on tour with Nile Rodgers and CHIC. As a new member of this 1970's disco/dace legendary band, Folami is learning the ropes and will be launching her debute EP in the near feature. Much of her song's lyrical contents are real passionate, heartfelt emotions penned by creating a therapeutic experience for her listeners and herself.
